Spalding Wargames Club: A Crucial Community for Mental Health Support

The Spalding Wargames Club based in Lincolnshire, is performing a crucial function in aiding the mental health of its members. The club, boasting over 60 dedicated followers who regularly take part in games such as Warhammer and Dungeons and Dragons, has emerged as a haven for numerous locals. Established in 2017 by Martin Jackson from his own shed, the club currently utilises four rooms in a church hall in Spalding. On top of their gaming activities, the club launched ‘Roll With Me’, a mental health initiative that provides casual support and routine wellbeing updates to those who require them. This scheme has been a lifeline for club members like Niall Denny and Autumn Barlow, who discovered companionship and assistance through the club after relocating to the neighbourhood. The club continues to offer a friendly environment for people to connect and share their experiences, meeting every Wednesday evening.
