Lincolnshire Grandfather Tragically Killed by Reversing Lorry, Company Fined £240k

A devastating event has led to a fine of £240,000 being imposed on Northwood Consumer Ltd. The firm was penalised after David Saint, a 61-year-old engineering manager from Spalding, Lincolnshire, was fatally hit by a lorry reversing. The fatal accident took place as Mr. Saint was crossing a service road at the Electra Park industrial estate in Birmingham on 19 October 2023. The company, headquartered in Telford, Shropshire, was fined in Birmingham Magistrates’ Court for violating the Health and Safety at Work Act, resulting in additional costs of £6,917.
