James Ward, aged 34 and resident of Scunthorpe, received a prison sentence of four years and 11 months for sexually assaulting a woman. He met his victim in a bar in Brigg, with the incident transpiring in the early hours of 1 August 2021. The assault took place in a nearby field, after which friends found the woman in an agony. Ward admitted to the allegation of assault by penetration and received his sentencing at Grimsby Crown Court. He is obliged to stay on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
