Manslaughter Trial Ends Without Verdict at Lincoln Crown Court

The manslaughter trial involving Dr Jason Waite ended inconclusively at Lincoln Crown Court. The jury could not arrive at a verdict, leading to their discharge. The accusations against Dr Waite revolved around the death of his stepfather, Mr Peter Skilton, which happened in Snitterby in December of the preceding year during an argument at the deceased’s maternal home. Dr Waite, who hails from Waddingham, refuted any intentions to cause harm to his stepfather. The prosecution, however, posited that an argument over an inheritance worth £4m might have incited the calamitous incident. Furthermore, it’s noteworthy that the accused was exonerated of murder charges in a previous instance. The prosecution’s decision regarding a potential retrial is expected within the week.
