Lincoln City Manager Michael Skubala is feeling positive as his team face a challenging sequence of five consecutive away matches. The Imps start this series with a match at Leyton Orient this Saturday. This will be followed by league games at Bradford and Rotherham, and matches against Salford in the first round of the FA Cup and Barnsley in the EFL Trophy.
Even with the demanding programme, Lincoln City’s form on the road has been excellent, with only one defeat in their last seven fixtures played away from home across all competitions. Skubala is unfazed by playing away, as his team continues to strive for promotion.
“Every game is approached with the belief that we can dominate and secure a win,” said Skubala in conversation with BBC Radio Lincolnshire. “Our team is solid, comprising both expertise and quality.”
The Imps’ forthcoming home match at the LNER Stadium will be against Doncaster on 15 November, but it may be postponed due to international call-ups. If that happens, it might mean that Lincoln City will not play a home match until the end of November.
At present, the Imps are occupying a League One play-off position, recently moving up the table following a 1-0 victory against Stevenage. Though cautious about attaching too much importance to league standings this early in the season, Skubala commended his team’s performance.
“Our defensive structure was remarkable, and it was a committed and hard-fought match against a robust team,” he remarked. “It was a joy to celebrate a victory at home, and our focus now shifts to the five challenging away matches.”
