Title: Royal Recognition for Lincolnshire Coastwatch Volunteers
Revised Content:
Princess Anne recently paid tribute to committed volunteers from Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe’s National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), acknowledging their dedication to protecting the Lincolnshire coast. Volunteers who have offered their service for between 5 and 10 years were given long service awards by the Princess Royal, who acts as patron for the charity. Among those its recipients was Peter Smith, a water safety officer based in Skegness, who referred to his meeting with royalty as a ‘privilege’. Jerzy Kwinta, a senior watchkeeper with ten years of service, voiced his pride in helping both his local and maritime communities. The occasion also served as the official inauguration of a new seafront unit in Cleethorpes, while the NCI pursues funding for a permanent facility in the vicinity.
