Arson Attack Destroys Beloved Bird Hide Near Barton-upon-Humber

A beloved bird hide near Barton-upon-Humber has been destroyed in an appalling act of arson, as confirmed by local authorities who stated the fire was deliberately started. The incident took place around 22:15 BST, on Wednesday, on Nev Cole Way, a busy public path nestled adjacent to West Marsh Lane.

The estimated value of the damage caused by the incident stands at about £12,000 according to the Humberside Police. Sgt Sarah Jackson, expressing her views on the incident, emphasised the irreparable loss stating “Such horrendous acts of damages are not mere destruction of property, but indeed a destruction of serene spaces that have been enjoyed and cherished by families, birdwatchers and nature lovers for quite many years.” The community is left reeling from the sudden loss of this cherished natural sanctuary which served as a peaceful retreat for local residents.

The police have called for public cooperation, urging any individuals with useful information relating to the incident to step forward to aid the ongoing investigations of this malicious act.
