The St Barnabas Hospice shop, located on Monks Road in Lincoln, will end 31 years of dedicated service to the community with its closure on 14 November. Caroline Peach, head of retail at the charity, expressed her gratitude towards the volunteers, donors, and customers who have shown steadfast support to the shop over the years. Peach underscored the necessity to assure that funds are utilised efficiently, especially during these challenging financial times.
This closure mirrors a wider struggle undergone by numerous hospices and charities across the region. St Barnabas Hospice provides support to over 12,000 people in Lincolnshire who are affected by life-limiting or terminal illnesses yearly. To maintain its services, the hospice needs to generate approximately £7 million each year.
During the shop’s last week of operation, a closing down sale will be organised. Despite this outlet’s closure, the other three St Barnabas Hospice shops in Lincoln will continue to operate.
