A country lane in North Lincolnshire has been shut due to harm inflicted by badgers digging underneath the carriageway. The North Lincolnshire Council has stated that parts of College Road, in close proximity to East Halton, have descended by nearly 2cm and are still moving, presenting a significant threat of breakdown if traffic continues. Expert surveys have revealed “extensive subsurface damage” in the vicinity, said a council representative. Preparation is ongoing to move the active badger dens found underneath the highway, as set out in a tender agreement.
