Festive Cheer Across Lincolnshire: Christmas Lights Events Announced

A series of Christmas lights events are due to take place across Lincolnshire, bringing a festive atmosphere to towns and cities throughout the region. Lincoln’s eagerly awaited Christmas lights switch-on is scheduled for Thursday 27 November at 5 pm on High Street. It promises special guests and performances by the cast of the New Theatre Royal’s pantomime.

Gainsborough’s Christmas season will begin with a Christmas lights event on Friday 14 November at Market Place, from 3 pm to 9 pm. Visitors can look forward to light displays, street theatre, local artist showcases, and festive crafts. Furthermore, a separate event will be held at Marshall’s Yard on Sunday 16 November.

The Great Grimsby Christmas festival will be held in Grimsby on Saturday 22 November across a variety of locations including St James’ Square, Riverhead Square, Grimsby Minster, and Freshney Place. Offering live entertainment, free activities, a Christmas market, and a parade, the Christmas tree lighting in St James’ Square is set for 5:45 pm.

Scunthorpe’s Church Square and Queen Elizabeth Memorial Gardens will glow with festive cheer on Saturday 22 November, featuring entertainers, stage acts, and family-friendly activities.

Cleethorpes’ St Peter’s Avenue will host a Christmas tree lighting event on Friday 28 November from 5 to 7 pm consisting of a student Christmas market. The tree lights are expected to brighten the area at around 6:15 pm.

Spalding’s celebrations will unfold on Friday 28 November, with a jubilant lights switch-on event from 4 pm in the town centre. There will be stalls and street entertainment leading up to the switch-on at 7:15 pm.

Brigg’s Christmas Market and lights switch-on will take place on Friday 28 November from 4 pm. Concurrently, Epworth will celebrate its lights switch-on from 5:45 pm in the town centre.

Alford’s Christmas extravaganza is set for Saturday 29 November, arranged by Alford Town Promotions from 1 pm to 7 pm at Market Place.

Haxey’s Memorial Hall will be the location for a lights switch-on and fairground event on Saturday 29 November after 5 pm, featuring stalls, a raffle, a Santa Postbox, and an illuminated tractor run.

Winterton’s outdoor festive market on Saturday 29 November will have its lights switched on at 6 pm, running from 2 pm to 8 pm.

Sleaford’s Christmas market will happen on Sunday 30 November from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm with lights illuminating the scene at 4:15 pm.

Grantham will experience Christmas lights on Sunday 30 November, with events at Market Place and Westgate from 11 am to 5 pm. The switch-on will take place at 4:30 pm, with road closures in the area from 5 am to 9 pm.

Kirton in Lindsey will host its lights switch-on on Sunday 30 November from 3 pm in Market Place and nearby streets, with the main event at 5 pm.

Spilsby’s Christmas market will be held on Saturday 6 December at Franklin Hall on Halton Road, with lights being turned on at 4:30 pm.

Finally, Belton’s celebration will take place on Saturday 6 December from 4 pm, with live music continuing from 7 pm onwards.
