A man from Doncaster has received a prison sentence exceeding six years for the sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old girl in various Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire hotels. Alexander Olas, 23, initiated contact with the teenager through social media during August 2022, subsequently arranging meetings at several local hotels over multiple months. In Grimsby Crown Court on the 7th of November, Olas admitted to the charges of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, actual bodily harm, deliberate strangulation, and intimidating a witness.
Detective Sergeant Tony Wilkinson underscored the gravity of Olas’s actions, stating that he exploited a vulnerable teenager and resorted to threats and violence. A parent’s concern led to the police investigation in September 2022, unearthing the incriminating social media exchanges. Olas had been using false names to maintain anonymity whilst booking hotel rooms.
Olas must register as a sex offender for life and will be subject to a 15-year sexual harm prevention order.
