Former NHS Offices in Bracebridge Heath May Become Special School

Plans are underway to convert the former NHS offices at Cross O’Cliff Court in Bracebridge Heath into a school for students with special educational needs. Willow Independent Holdings has put forward a proposal that seeks to repurpose the Health Authority Offices, a Grade II listed building, into a school for around 100 Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) students, aged between 4 to 18 years old.

The proposal includes plans to secure outdoor play areas with fresh fencing while also preserving the existing cricket pitch as a communal green area, to be utilised by both the school and the local cricket club. There will be no modifications made to the current parking arrangements. The school is set to operate from 09:00 till 15:00, Monday through Friday, and is anticipated to employ an estimated 25 to 35 staff members.

The building, dating back to its construction in the year 1907, originally belonged to Arthur C Newsom, a well-known local businessman and ex-mayor of Lincoln. This information was originally reported by www.bbc.com and has been adapted for The Lincoln Post.
