Lincoln Castle Academy Set for Major Redevelopment

Plans for a comprehensive redevelopment of Lincoln Castle Academy, located on Riseholme Road, have been unveiled. The changes may involve the demolition and rebuilding of the school in phases to keep disruption to its 900 students at a minimum. The school is currently managed by Delta Academy Trust, and the proposed development could see the addition of new classrooms, a sports hall, and outdoor games areas to the site.

The potential redevelopment is driven by an intention to upgrade the educational environment, following the academy’s previous rating of ‘Inadequate’ by Ofsted under former management. The local community, including parents and residents, have been invited to provide feedback on the project.

It is expected that the first phase of construction will involve the removal of the art and drama blocks as well as the food, design, and technology blocks, with new buildings being erected on the same site. Subsequent phases will revolve around the replacement of the main hall and sports block. To smooth the transition period, temporary accommodations have been planned on the school field.

Since taking over management in 2023, Delta Academy Trust is set to back the school’s mission through this redevelopment.
