Residents throughout Lincolnshire are dealing with plans for their disrupted holidays, following the withdrawal of the operating licence of a local coach firm, Hough’s of Lincolnshire. John Davies of Louth, who had budgeted over £1,000 for a Christmas trip to Scotland with his partner, is amongst those affected. Despite several attempted communications, Mr Davies has not received any response from the company.
The operator’s licence was revoked by the Traffic Commissioner for the North East due to worries over safety and record-keeping issues. PC Coaches, based in Lincoln, is stepping in to honour some bookings as a goodwill gesture, however the status of December holidays has yet to be confirmed.
Hough’s, founded in 2006 and operating out of Cleethorpes, is now facing increased scrutiny from disgruntled customers in pursuit of refunds. Legal guidance recommends customers to consider pursuing claims through their card providers as a possible means of redress.
