Lincolnshire residents can anticipate more cost-effective bus travel as fares on certain routes are set to decrease to £1.50. This decision was confirmed by the Lincolnshire County Council and will be implemented on 8 December. The fare reduction will be available on journeys within the towns of Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Louth, Mablethorpe, Skegness, Spalding, and Stamford. Moreover, commuters travelling to and from Lincoln past 20:00 will also be offered these cut rates. This fare decrease forms a part of a subsidy provided by the government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan and is forecasted to remain in effect until March 2027.
