Bird Flu Detected at Two Lincolnshire Farms Prompting Restrictions

Bird flu outbreaks have been confirmed at two poultry farms located in Lincolnshire, a revelation brought to light by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). These instances were identified at commercial breeding sites, thereby necessitating immediate intervention. The response has seen the establishment of a protection zone roughly two miles (3km) wide and a surveillance zone stretching eight miles (10km) around both affected locations, aimed at observing and halting the spread of the disease. Defra has also announced plans to cull all birds within these premises in a humane manner in the bid to curb further transmission.
