In a heart-warming turn of events at Humberston House Care Home in North East Lincolnshire, 94-year-old Norma had her long-time dream realised when she received a surprise call from pop star Robbie Williams. Norma, a devoted fan since his Take That days, voiced her dream to meet him, which prompted the care home to organise a visit from a tribute act. However, unknowingly to Norma, Williams himself, inspired by his daughter who noticed Norma’s tale on the internet, chose to ring her from America.
“I was completely taken aback. I truly was surprised,” Norma revealed, quipping with amusement, “He was in America, lounging on the bed. I nearly told him he could have dressed up for the occasion!” The joyful event was coordinated by Bailey Greetham, who conducts fitness and wellbeing sessions at the home and posts videos on the web. The online video detailing Norma’s story was viewed over a million times and mentioned Robbie 5,000 times, which eventually led to the unforgettable exchange.
