A Skegness resident, Rachael Buckett, 42, has received a prison sentence exceeding two years, following a series of burglaries she committed in the coastal town. Buckett, who lived on Alexandra Road, deliberately targeted four properties in the Dorothy Avenue vicinity this previous August. Her strategy included taking advantage of unprotected doors and windows, coupled with a false presentation herself as a domestic abuse sufferer to elicit compassion. The conclusive lead in her apprehension was provided when she asked for a glass of water from one of the people she victimised, inadvertently leaving fingerprints that facilitated her identification. Post her sentencing at Lincoln Crown Court, Detective Constable Oliver Sleber reflected on Buckett’s offences, labelling them as ‘deliberate and unabashed’ and emphasising her premeditated tactics and absence of regret.
