Local Educator from Fulstow Awarded MBE for Dedication to Early Years Education

Eleanor Hutton, a committed local educator from Fulstow, in close proximity to Louth, Lincolnshire, has been awarded an MBE for her exceptional service to early years education for children. Her award was formally announced in the summer while Eleanor, her husband Josh, and their daughter Elora had the pleasure of experiencing the memorable ceremony of investiture in December at St James’s Palace. Here, Eleanor was presented with the award by Princess Anne.

Eleanor, who celebrated her 35th birthday this year, conveyed her astonishment and delight when she received the letter on her birthday, 1st May. “I sincerely thought there must be some sort of mistake. It still doesn’t seem real,” she disclosed candidly. Eleanor’s illustrious career to date includes her role as an Ofsted inspector and a governor at North Somercotes Primary School. Also, she is the initiative-taker and director of Explorosity located in Waltham, North East Lincolnshire, an establishment commended as Outstanding by Ofsted.

While reflecting on her journey, Eleanor opined, “We started with just a little, but the passion was tremendous. The early years in a child’s life form the most crucial phase when curiosity, a sense of wonder and emotional safety should form the foundation of everything.” She reaffirmed the importance of acknowledging the quiet yet vital work carried out in the domain of early years education, thereby making her recognition incredibly meaningful.

The ceremony turned out to be a festive family occasion, with Eleanor’s loved ones proudly witnessing her accomplishment. “It was indeed an overwhelming joyful experience – seeing my family beaming with pride, standing in the palace and hearing my name being announced,” she reminisced. “This is a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

Eleanor’s tale symbolises the extraordinary efforts made in Lincolnshire’s education sphere, spotlighting the dedication and fervour of local educators who are committed to molding the future of young children.
