Spalding Flower Parade 2026 Cancelled Due to Financial Strain and Illness

The Spalding Flower Parade planning committee has confirmed the 2026 event’s cancellation due to financial challenges and sickness within the team. The annual event, which has celebrated the region’s abundant flower-growing tradition since 1959, was resurrected in 2023 following a 10-year pause. Toni Preston, the committee’s secretary and joint director, indicated that choosing to cancel was no easy task. However, attention will now be redirected towards guaranteeing the parade’s triumphant return on the 8th and 9th May 2027. While the committee does possess some funds, they aim to acquire extra finance and have organised a significant fundraising event for August. Demonstrating commitment to the parade’s future stability, they will liaise closely with sponsors, floats, retailers, and coach companies to determine the forthcoming steps.
