A Week of Exciting Announcements Lights Up Lincolnshire

In the past seven days, Lincolnshire has been a hub of activity with a variety of exciting proclamations promising to enhance the vibrancy of our beloved community. This week gave us a sneak peek into a series of soon-to-be events set to light up our lives, both metaphorically and literally.

This festive season is expected to glimmer even more with various events planned across the county. The annual Christmas lights switch-on is all set to disperse joy and warmth, with the diverse Christmas markets bound to inspire the holiday spirit in everyone. These markets offer a range of handmade gifts, as well as food and drink, representing the inventive spirit and craftsmanship that defines our community.

We’re also set to pay tribute to our past as Scunthorpe prepares to host a one-of-a-kind film premiere to mark the end of World War Two. However, it’s no ordinary screening; the film will be displayed on the Scunthorpe Central Library walls – a truly novel and poignant approach to remembering a critical period of our collective history.

Meanwhile, the Usher Gallery is ready to mesmerise us with a trailblazing street photography exhibition, centering on life in Lincoln, further supporting our county’s day-to-day vivacity.

In addition to this, music enthusiasts of all generations have cause to celebrate. McFly and 80’s superstar Rick Astley are confirmed to perform at Lincoln Castle in 2026. This delightful news further cements Lincolnshire’s status as a lively music hub.

In the most spectacular of announcements, Lincoln Castle is expected to host ‘roaring dragons’ until 2028. This electrifying addition adds a mystical element to our cherished landmark, and we eagerly anticipate the implications this will have for future visitors.

This past week has reinforced Lincolnshire as a locale of history, dynamism, and expectancy. Here’s to more thrilling times on the horizon!
