A Week of Revelry and Royal Visits: Lincolnshire in the Limelight

It’s been a spectacular week in Lincolnshire! A resonating success was the outdoor gig at Lincoln Castle by Rag’n’Bone Man, igniting a wave of communal joy. It served as a dynamic reminder of music’s potential to bring our community together and set the rhythm for a week abundant with festivities.

As we move to Grantham, families are brimming with excitement for the upcoming Dinomania event. Scheduled for 17th June, the event featuring prehistoric puppets is forecasted to entertain both children and adults alike, promising a fun-filled day for all.

The well-loved soapbox race made its victorious return to Lincoln over the weekend, further proving our county’s commitment to traditions. Matched by the excitement of the Lincolnshire Show, a prestigious event where we were honoured by a visit from the Princess Royal herself.

Between the sun-drenched festivities, royal visits, and the allure of robot dogs, the Lincolnshire Show was indeed a grand celebration of our county’s spirit. Let’s also not overlook the remarkable turnout of 60,000 visitors, an unequivocal demonstration of the event’s value and the growing urge to preserve it for generations to come.

The performance realm is also bustling, with Grimsby’s James Hall preparing to present his unique adult clown mime show at the Glastonbury Festival. Back home, spirits are high in anticipation of the Dragon Boat Race at Lincoln’s Brayford Pool. The ‘Vintage on Sea’ event will bring a touch of retro allure to Sutton on Sea, and our very own Lincoln City FC is set for a grand appearance at the Lincolnshire Show.

On top of all this, keep your diaries open as we approach the 20th Annual Santa Fun Run.

As we anticipate National Armed Forces Day 2025 in Cleethorpes and pay tribute to the Grimsby Auditorium’s 30-year history, let’s take a pause to appreciate our county’s rich, diverse events. With DJ Adam Wareham spinning nostalgic melodies on his vintage gramophones, let’s sway to the beat of our county’s much-treasured traditions and blossoming innovations. Here’s to the hope of more weeks brimming with pleasures like this one.
