Aerial Footage Reveals Majestic Lancaster Bomber Sculpture in Norton Disney

Drone footage has offered an outstanding glimpse of a life-sized sculpture of a Lancaster Bomber, newly installed in Norton Disney, Lincolnshire. The formidable steel structure stands as a testament to the courageous RAF bomber crews who operated in the county throughout the Second World War. The artwork spans a remarkable 85ft in length and boasts a wingspan of 102ft. Two cranes were utilised to skilfully hoist the sculpture into its current position. It has an intentional tilt, providing the illusion of the aircraft in mid-flight, symbolically on course to the nearby former RAF Swinderby base. This evocative installation pays its respects to Lincolnshire’s distinguished aviation legacy and its contribution during the wartime period.
