Boston United bring in experienced defender Jamie Grimes on loan from Chesterfield
Boston United have strengthened their back line by signing Chesterfield centre-half Jamie Grimes on loan for the remainder of the season. The 35-year-old arrives at the Jakemans Community Stadium with plenty of know-how at this level, having captained Chesterfield to the National League title and promotion to League Two in 2024. Grimes is in the final months of his contract with the Derbyshire club after a year-long option was triggered last summer. He featured 42 times for Chesterfield during their first season back in the EFL last term, but has made eight appearances across all competitions this season. For Boston supporters, the move brings a seasoned organiser into the dressing room as the Pilgrims look to build momentum over the run-in. Grimes has previously played for clubs including Swansea City, Kidderminster Harriers and Macclesfield. Boston have not yet said whether the deal includes any option beyond the end of the campaign.
