Brigg GP surgery’s call centre and ‘robot’ dispenser helping cut waits for thousands across North Lincs

Local News
A GP surgery in Brigg says a new call-handling system and an automated prescription dispenser are helping to reduce waiting times for patients across North Lincolnshire. The practice has introduced a call centre-style phone system to manage incoming calls more efficiently, with the aim of reducing busy tones and long waits. It has also installed an automated dispenser for repeat prescriptions, intended to speed up collections and reduce queues at peak times. The surgery said the changes are designed to help patients access services more quickly and to ease pressure on reception staff by streamlining routine tasks. It added that patients can continue to contact the practice through its usual channels and that urgent medical issues should still be raised promptly using the appropriate NHS services. The practice said it will keep the impact of the new systems under review and invited patients to provide feedback on their experience.
