Decrease in Road Fatalities Across Lincolnshire Welcomed

The Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership has voiced their gratitude for the decrease in road fatalities and severe injuries on the county’s roads. In the past year, 37 individuals perished in 34 separate incidents, a reduction from 2024’s figures where 51 lives were taken in 45 collisions. Steve Bachelor, the manager of the partnership, recognised this progress but stressed that every casualty is still intensely mourned. ‘Each statistic represents a person, leaving loved ones to cope with the aftermath,’ he stated. Although the number of serious injuries slightly dropped to 376 from the previous year’s 378, there was an increase in the number of collisions causing these injuries, from 310 to 329. Bachelor encouraged the public to adhere to the ABC of road safety: avoid distractions, be patient, and concentrate. He underlined personal responsibility as the pivotal factor in further minimising these disasters.
