Eggs Thrown at Nurse on Hospital Grounds in Grimsby

An incident at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, in which a nurse was pelted with eggs, is currently under investigation by both hospital security and the police. The NHS Foundation Trust for Northern Lincolnshire and Goole announced that the incident left the targeted nurse, who was still in uniform after finishing her shift, in a “shocked and shaken” state. The event transpired on Monday evening and involved two cyclists. A collaboration between the trust and Humberside Police is underway to identify those responsible for the act, and appeals have been made to the public for any useful information.
It was recently noted by the trust that there has been a rise in similar incidents. Employees’ vehicles have also been victimised. Additional experiences shared include an instance on 2 January where another nurse narrowly avoided being struck by an egg. She expressed her rising fear for her personal safety, particularly during her solitary night time commutes. Humberside Police have made reassurances that they are coordinating closely with the hospital’s security team to apprehend those behind these occurrences and urge anyone with valuable information to make contact with them.
