Four Arrested Following Hit and Run in Scunthorpe

Four individuals have been detained following a hit and run incident on East Common Lane, Scunthorpe, resulting in a 50-year-old man sustaining serious injuries. Humberside Police arrived on the scene around 18:10 GMT on Monday. The van involved was located on Rochdale Road, leading to the arrest of two males who attempted to abscond. Two other males in the vehicle were also detained. The four suspects, aged 33, 35, 45, and 53, are currently being held in custody. A scene guard is present at the location of the incident. The Independent Office for Police Conduct has been referred to as per protocol due to injuries suffered by the 35-year-old suspect during his apprehension. Detective Inspector Charmian Bakersmith has assured the community that comprehensive enquiries are taking place. Preliminary investigations imply that the individuals involved may have had prior acquaintance. The police are urging anyone with information or video footage that could aid the investigation to come forward.
