Free Alpha Course Kicks Off at Alive Lincoln Central Tonight — Meal, Film and Big Questions on the Menu
Community

A Lincoln church is inviting residents to pull up a chair, grab a free meal and get talking about “life, the universe, and everything” as its Alpha Course returns tonight.
Alive Lincoln Central, based on Newland, is hosting the session from 7pm, offering what organisers describe as an open, discussion-led evening for anyone curious about faith, meaning and the big questions — with “no pressure and no charge”.
The format is simple: guests arrive for food, watch a short film, then break into conversation about the themes raised.
The event was promoted on the LincolnUK Reddit community, where the invitation stressed it is “free and open for anyone to attend”. A link to an Alpha introduction video was also shared online.
Not everyone was convinced, with one top comment taking a swipe at religion and quoting author Douglas Adams: “Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”
Alive Lincoln Central is on Newland. Organisers also shared a What3Words location for those trying to find it: dared.intelligible.patio.
The Lincoln Post has contacted Alive Lincoln Central for any further details about future sessions.
