Grimsby and Cleethorpes Model Engineering Society Marks 90 Years with Community Event

The Grimsby and Cleethorpes Model Engineering Society, a beloved institution founded in 1935 by Henry Hartley, Sidney Well, and Mr Scrimshaw, is marking its 90th anniversary. Home to 80 committed volunteers, the society runs a charming miniature railway situated in the picturesque grounds of Waltham Windmill. They have called this location, with its variety of tracks, a signal box, a tunnel, and numerous stations, home since the mid-80s. To mark this significant anniversary, the society is organising a public event on 12 and 13 July, with free rides available. The aim is to engage and inspire a fresh generation of model engineering fans, and perhaps nurture future engineers via this community-centered gathering.
