Grimsby Town striker Charles Vernam signs new deal to stay at Blundell Park
Grimsby Town forward Charles Vernam has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Blundell Park until the end of next season. The 30-year-old, who returned to the Mariners from Bradford City in June 2023, has been one of Town’s key attacking outlets in League Two this term, scoring nine goals in 40 appearances. Speaking to the club’s website, Vernam said he is “buzzing” to extend his stay, adding that he feels he is playing some of the best football of his career in North East Lincolnshire. He also paid tribute to the support he has received from supporters, saying the fans have been “unbelievable” and that he is determined to keep repaying them on the pitch as the Mariners look to build momentum into next season.
