Humber Forest Project Boosts Tree Planting Efforts in North Lincolnshire

The Humber Forest Project has made remarkable progress in enhancing tree planting efforts in North Lincolnshire, with the number of trees now rooted reaching the hundreds of thousands. Councillor Paul West conveyed his satisfaction with the project and appealed to additional landowners to join. The scheme has resulted in the creation of new woodland and hedgerows in places such as Crowle, which is advantageous for local wildlife habitats and aids in the fight against climate change.

The project, an integral aspect of the expansive Northern Forest, works collaboratively with farmers, landowners, and communities, providing grants to fund the expenses of tree planting. In Crowle, a local sheep farm has seen the establishment of over 2km of native hedgerows and over half a hectare of woodland.

These endeavours are part of a wider objective to better communal areas, minimise the risk of flooding, and enhance air quality in the region. This article was originally reported by www.bbc.com and later adapted by The Lincoln Post.
