Imps aim for versatility in left-back search says Skubala

Lincoln City are primed to demonstrate flexibility in their quest for a new left-back, fulfilling the role left vacant by Sean Roughan’s departure, as per Imps manager Michael Skubala. The 22-year-old Irish player recently transferred to League One rivals Huddersfield Town following the expiration of his contract earlier in July. This transfer, however, resulted in a compensation fee for Lincoln City. Skubala is prioritising the search for Roughan’s successor in the remaining duration of the transfer window, while also recognising that finding a direct substitute might not be practical. In a discussion with BBC Radio Lincolnshire conducted during the club’s pre-season training in Portugal, Skubala stated, “We have a strategy. It might not bear enough resemblance to last season principally because Sean’s method of gameplay was distinctive. The driving force behind his transfer, along with us securing a considerable amount for him, was his competence in his role.”
