Job Security Until March for Employees at Lindsey Oil Refinery amidst Uncertainty

The official receiver has confirmed that employment of workers at the Lindsey Oil Refinery in North Lincolnshire has been secured until the end of March. The refinery, owned by Prax Group, currently employs around 250 people despite recent redundancies. The group has found itself in a difficult position after entering administration.

However, there’s an optimistic outlook as bids for the sale of the site are presently under review, with hopes that a deal may be reached soon. The local MP, Martin Vickers, has been actively advocating in Parliament, stressing the importance of the refinery which makes a substantial contribution to the UK’s petrol and diesel supply.

Discussions to sustain the refinery’s operations have taken place with potential buyers. The Climate Minister, Katie White, relayed that the government is actively working to establish a secure future for the UK’s refining sector, aiming for a sustainable transition.

This issue remains a priority for the community, as continued efforts are made to protect jobs and the local economy, already challenged by recent events.
