Lincoln Charity Plans New Holiday Home for Cancer Support

Sophie’s Journey, a charity based in Lincoln, has initiated a fundraising appeal to establish a new holiday home intended to support families affected by cancer. This project aspires to create a nurturing space within a half-hour drive of Lincoln County Hospital. Stacey Southwell founded the charity in honour of her daughter, Sophie Robinson, who tragically lost her life to a brain tumour in 2016. Sophie’s Journey currently offers holidays at no cost to families impacted by cancer. However, the new undertaking seeks to offer an even more comfortable space, tackling the difficulties presented when travelling to their present caravans in Mablethorpe. The charity requires £250,000 to actualise this plan, inviting local enterprises and community members to donate. The planned facility guarantees to be fully accessible and will secure prompt medical attention if needed, providing a safe and calming environment for families. Southwell is confident that this endeavour not only pays tribute to her daughter’s memory but also brings significant advantages to the community. Sponsors will be acknowledged with a commemorative plaque at the lodge and their contributions celebrated at the grand opening.
