Lincoln Live Music Festival Returns with New Venue and Local Talent

The popular Lincoln Live music festival, known for celebrating up-and-coming musicians, is returning for its third year with some exciting revisions. This year, the festival will transition to City Square, a more intimate venue compared to its previous location at Cornhill Square. The festival’s change in location was revealed by the City of Lincoln Council, who stated that the two-day musical extravaganza is set for 30 August, from 13:00 to 20:00, and 31 August, from 12:00 to 17:00 British Summer Time.

One of the festival’s top attractions is its main stage performances by artists handpicked via BBC Introducing, a platform dedicated to spotlighting new talent. Additionally, the festival will introduce Lincoln Live Unplugged, an acoustic stage located at St Paul in the Bail. While some seating will be provided, festival-goers are encouraged to bring along their own deck chairs, food and non-alcoholic beverages to ensure a comfortable experience.

Councillor Joshua Wells, the City of Lincoln Council’s representative for inclusive economic growth, highlighted the festival’s purpose of uniting people from all generations to partake in free music as summer ends. He gave a mention to the convenient proximity of the Cornhill Market, which provides festival attendees the opportunity to sample local products during performance intermissions.

This event further firms the council’s determination to collaborate with local independent businesses throughout Lincoln’s city centre and uphill areas, in an endeavour to bolster a sense of community.
