Organisers of Lincoln Pride have reassured enthusiasts that the highly anticipated event is set to go ahead this year, albeit with some changes due to budget constraints. The celebration, which had previously encountered financial obstacles, is to be held at the Orchard Street Car Park on 16 August.
A noteworthy absence from this year’s event will be the annual parade; however, this will be compensated by new features like a dance terrace. The significant turnout at last year’s Lincoln Pride – over 8,500 attendees with highlights including a feature by Liberty X – underscored the importance of this festival to the local community.
Arran Hart, a spokesperson for Lincoln Pride, emphasised that the operational costs for infrastructure for the event tally up to £45,000. Although these financial hurdles pose a challenge, organisers remain determined to honour diversity and inclusion within Lincoln.
