Title: Tractor Run in Lincolnshire Bolsters Wellbeing Among Farmers

Over 100 participants showcased exceptional community spirit in a tractor run, beginning in Huttoft near Alford, in support of the Lincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN). This non-profit organisation is devoted to aiding the county’s rural and farming communities. The tractor run, a 20-mile journey through the scenic Lincolnshire countryside, was organised by Sam Brown, who himself lives with cerebral palsy and has directed this event for the past 12 years. The proceeds raised went towards supporting the crucial work of LRSN, a choice made by Brown in the light of the escalating challenges faced by farmers.

Local farmer, Andrew Jacklin, from Grainthorpe, highlighted the pivotal role such events play in connecting the agriculture community. He stated, “Farming can often be a solitary occupation, but it’s events like this that bring us all together. It provides an opportunity to share experiences and offer support, demonstrating the strength and camaraderie within our tractor-driving fraternity.”

The necessity for such fundraising is underscored by the recent increase in helpline calls reported by LRSN, as observed by Emma Billings, another event organiser. She stressed the critical importance of raising funds to maintain their indispensable support services. It’s clear these gatherings not only bring farmers together but also play a significant role in supporting the wellbeing of the broader rural community in Lincolnshire.
