Lincolnshire Residents Invited to Share Views on Nature Protection

The district council is consulting on its biodiversity plan which aims to protect wildlife.

Lincolnshire Residents Invited to Share Views on Nature Protection

Residents of Lincolnshire are being urged to share their views on measures to conserve local wildlife and nature. Councillor Rhys Baker, who is responsible for environment and waste, is inviting local residents, landowners, and organisations to engage in a consultation centred on biodiversity and rewilding initiatives. He stresses the significance of public opinions in guiding the future approach and activities of nature conservation efforts in the region.

Councillor Baker stated, ā€œI’d like to encourage anyone with an interest in wildlife and their habitats to participate in this consultation regarding biodiversity and rewilding.ā€ He also stated that feedback on current rewilding locations, as well as suggestions for council-owned land that might be suitable for biodiversity initiatives, are highly appreciated.

The council is also exploring methods of assisting other organisations and community groups in dedicating land for nature conservation. Feedback from the public will be instrumental in measuring public support for existing council efforts and forming strategies to support other groups in promoting biodiversity.

Local residents are advised to tune into Lincolnshire highlights on BBC Sounds or watch the latest episode of Look North to stay abreast of this and other local news stories.
