Lincolnshire Residents Back Police Campaign against Drink Drivers

Iwona Bachla, a local resident and motorist, is wholeheartedly backing Lincolnshire Police’s most recent campaign, directed at apprehending drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Bachla, 44, regards anyone driving while impaired as a potential hazard to others on the road, underlining the necessity to halt such perilous conduct.

Detective Inspector John Treharne of Lincolnshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit emphasised that one fifth of fatal collisions on a national level involve a driver impacted by alcohol or drugs. To combat this, Lincolnshire Police has unveiled a month-long initiative to focus on alcohol and drug-impaired drivers, especially during the seasonal holidays when such cases are often on the rise.

The law enforcement agency is set to increase patrols throughout the festive season, a decision that has drawn broad support from local motorists. Ben Booth, 23, commented that the campaign was a commendable action, especially during periods when social gatherings are rife. Mick Nicholson, 62, drew attention to the severe aftermath of drink-driving, asserting that a careless driver could cause irrevocable harm.

Simon Outen-Coe, a representative from Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, also expressed his support for the initiative, cautioning the public about the severe consequences of drink-driving. He warned that such irresponsible actions could potentially lead to unemployment, loss of driving licences, and in the most extreme scenario, imprisonment and serious harm to others.
