Lincolnshire’s Peter Hickman Hospitalised After TT Crash

Peter Hickman, the renowned racing star from Lincolnshire, is currently hospitalised due to injuries from a crash during the Isle of Man TT’s qualifying session on Friday evening. The distressing event occurred on the Kerrowmoar section of the circuit, leading to chest, back, shoulder and facial injuries for Hickman. The Airmed helicopter airlifted him to Noble’s Hospital immediately after the incident.

Despite the seriousness of the accident, race organisers offer some comfort, confirming Hickman is conscious, stable, and is described as comfortable and in good spirits as of Saturday morning. Known for his spectacular racing record, the 38-year-old 14-time TT race winner owns the absolute lap record for the 37.73-mile Mountain Course, achieving an astonishing speed of 136.358mph in 2023.

Heading the 8TEN Racing and PHR Racing teams, Hickman was due to participate in the 2025 TT races. Impressively, in Friday’s qualifying sessions just prior to the crash, he clocked the third fastest time of the week in the Superbike class and placed second in the Superstock category.

Hickman, a key player in the British Superbike Championship and the North West 200 road races, has his skill and speed recognised within the racing community. Regrettably, another rider, Tom Weeden, also experienced a crash during the session, resulting in injuries to his back, leg, and ankle.
