Major Housing Development Near Grimsby Sparks Concerns Over Local Impact

Plans have been unveiled for a significant new housing development near Great Coates, North East Lincolnshire, which could result in as many as 3,500 new homes. Stylised as Grimsby West, the proposed development includes plans for an access road, a duo of community hubs and a combination of primary and secondary schools. The site is situated between the A46 and the A1136.

A recent council meeting underscored the necessity for more detailed information regarding potential flood risks and the desired country park since local residents have expressed concerns. The Save the Freshney Valley campaign group has been particularly active, coordinating demonstrations in opposition to the development. Moreover, independent councillors who oppose the plans have been elected in current years.

The venture is being led by Grimsby West LLP, a joint effort between the Harworth Group and M F Strawson Ltd, who maintain that they have undertaken extensive engagement with local authorities and the members of the public.
