North Hykeham Relief Road Project Showcases Archaeological Finds

Lincolnshire residents are being invited to meet the team responsible for the construction of the North Hykeham Relief Road, the concluding segment of Lincoln’s ring road. The £200m project, which is anticipated to receive governmental approval, will form a new dual carriageway linking the A46 Pennells Roundabout with the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. Archaeologists have unearthed various historic artefacts during the development phases, including Roman pottery and a Neolithic axe head.

These finds will be exhibited during three public information events between 3rd and 5th February. The meeting spaces will be Waddington Community Hub, Bracebridge Heath Pavilion and the Bentley Hotel, with each venue hosting an event on separate, consecutive days. Lincolnshire County Council’s Councillor Michael Cheyne is urging the public to attend, to inform themselves about the development plans, and understand the advantages the procedure will bring to the community.

The scheme, which includes the construction of new roundabouts and bridges, is set to begin in March and aims to be completed within a three-year timeframe.
