Scunthorpe United Awarded Victory Over Wealdstone, Eastleigh Match to be Replayed

In a move impacting Lincolnshire’s football landscape, the National League has granted Scunthorpe United three points on the back of their prematurely terminated match against Wealdstone. The league has also determined that Scunthorpe’s match with Eastleigh from last Wednesday will undergo a replay. Both dramatic fixtures were drawn to a halt in injury time due to player injuries. Jean Belehouan of Scunthorpe and Eastleigh’s Archie Harris both sustained head injuries during the Eastleigh match, while Scunthorpe were ahead 2-1 against Wealdstone when Daniel Nkrumah of the Stones suffered a shoulder injury. In a statement, Wealdstone voiced their support for the decision, maintaining that granting the points to Scunthorpe was the fair outcome. Consistency in managing such incidents was underscored by the National League. In line with the regulations, although Scunthorpe receive the points, the goals netted and conceded in the prematurely ended match will not be reflected in the league standings.
