Scunthorpe United have moved to keep goalkeeper Rory Mahady at Glanford Park for the rest of the campaign, extending the 19-year-old’s loan from Leeds United until the end of the season.
Mahady, who arrived in October, has become a regular in Andy Butler’s side and has made 14 appearances for the Iron as they push for a National League play-off place.
Scunthorpe sit sixth in the table and are 10 points clear of eighth-placed Southend, strengthening their bid to stay in the play-off positions during the run-in.
Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, Mahady said he is enjoying his football in North Lincolnshire. “I feel like I’m coming on every week and I’m in a good rhythm,” he said.
The extension gives Scunthorpe continuity between the posts as they look to turn their strong position into a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
