Scunthorpe United extend Leeds keeper Rory Mahady’s loan until season’s end
Scunthorpe United have moved to keep goalkeeper Rory Mahady at Glanford Park for the rest of the campaign, extending the 19-year-old’s loan from Leeds United until the end of the season. Mahady, who arrived in October, has become a regular in Andy Butler’s side and has made 14 appearances for the Iron as they push for a National League play-off place. Scunthorpe sit sixth in the table and are 10 points clear of eighth-placed Southend, strengthening their bid to stay in the play-off positions during the run-in. Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, Mahady said he is enjoying his football in North Lincolnshire. “I feel like I’m coming on every week and I’m in a good rhythm,” he said. The extension gives Scunthorpe continuity between the posts as they look to turn their strong position into a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
