Scunthorpe United Faces FA Misconduct Charge Following Promotion Decider

Scunthorpe United, the renowned Lincolnshire football club, has been slapped with a misconduct charge by the Football Association following fan-related incidents during their National League North promo decider against Chester at Glanford Park in May. Known affectionately as The Iron, the club faces accusations that their fans violated three FA rules, including engaging in violent, threatening, or provocative conduct, launching objects onto the football pitch, and unlawfully encroaching onto the field of play.

Michelle Harness, joint owner and chair of Scunthorpe United, voiced her disappointment over the charges, noting that they unfairly mar the memory of that triumphant day on May 18th when the club earned advancement to the National League. Harness highlighted the responsibility of supporters to maintain good behaviour during both home and away matches to avert any future sanctions.

Scunthorpe United is in the process of preparing an official response to the outstanding charges.
