A tragic accident on the A16 Fotherby bypass near Louth has resulted in the death of a man, Lincolnshire Police have confirmed. The unfortunate event happened at the North Elkington junction and involved two vehicles – a silver Ford Focus and a blue BMW. The incident was reported to the authorities just after 04:30 GMT.

The 78-year-old man travelling in the Ford Focus was pronounced dead at the scene, adding a devastating chapter to road fatalities in Lincolnshire. The driver of the BMW was conveyed to the local hospital to receive medical attention.
