Vintage on Sea Set to Bring Retro Charm to Sutton on Sea

The Vintage on Sea event, eagerly awaited by many, is poised to bring a burst of retro charm back to Sutton on Sea on the Lincolnshire coast later this month. The day promises to be packed with attractions such as traditional fairground rides, vintage cinema, and classic cars; all curated to honour and relive the archetypal seaside holiday. The event, which is free to attend, will commence at 10:00 and conclude at 16:00 BST on Saturday, 28 June. Set to make an already exciting day even more special is a fly-past by the renowned Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring iconic aircraft like the Hurricane and Spitfire.

The Meridale Youth and Community Centre will transform into a vintage cinema, providing an exclusive cinematic experience. An assortment of talent in the form of singers, bands, theatre and dance groups, and magicians will present live performances throughout the day, keeping attendees entertained. The Spar car park will host traditional fairground attractions and over 30 market stalls offering a variety of vintage items, food, and drink.

Councillor Craig Leyland, leader of East Lindsey District Council, shared his excitement for the forthcoming event. He described Vintage on Sea as a true celebration of community spirit and an excellent opportunity for both residents and visitors to immerse themselves in a bygone era, while enjoying a plethora of amusing and entertaining activities. Echoing the success of the previous year, Councillor Leyland expressed hope for a great turnout and a day filled with memorable moments, with attendees taking the chance to reminisce about their love for the beautiful coastline and make new memories.

This event forms part of the Story Tellers project, a South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership initiative, financially backed by Arts Council England. The project is designed to highlight the heritage of South and East Lincolnshire through a variety of cultural activities.
