North Lincolnshire’s community clean-up initiative, a scheme focused on local regeneration, is set to return, inviting residents to take part in efforts to revitalise derelict alleyways and communal spaces. Last year, this successful project saw the removal of seven tonnes of waste from Castle Street in Grimsby. The Clear It project is drama by North Lincolnshire Council, who are calling for volunteers to assist in the transformation of spaces that have fallen into disrepair and are not owned by the council. Coordinated site meetings will be arranged by the council with volunteers to assess the state of these spaces, project the volume of waste, and schedule the clean-up operations.
Speaking on the initiative, Councillor Henry Hudson underscored the significance of these endeavours, stating, “We have a vision of these types of spaces getting a fresh start; transforming into vibrant areas that the community can enjoy and utilise more effectively.”
