Free Easter events lined up for families across Lincolnshire

Families across Lincolnshire are being offered a range of free Easter activities over the school holidays, with events planned in Lincoln, Grantham, Stamford, Alford and Gainsborough. For parents looking to fill the break without stretching the budget, the line-up includes themed trails, craft sessions, live performances and outdoor activities. Organisers say the programme reflects the variety of attractions on offer across the county, from city centre events in Lincoln to community activities in market towns. In Lincoln, the Cornhill Quarter is due to become Dino City from Friday 3 April to Sunday 19 April. Organisers say visitors can expect dinosaur-inspired experiences aimed at a wide range of ages, including the chance to dig for fossils and follow a trail through the city. For families already planning a day out in Lincoln, it could add another option during one of the busiest holiday periods of the year. Grantham is also set to host several Easter activities in Wyndham Park. On Saturday 4 April, organisers say visitors will be able to watch a duck race and try the new skatepark, where free skateboarding training is due to be available. Other planned activities include a climbing wall, pottery painting and circus skills, running from 11.00 until 15.00. Later in the holidays, on Thursday 9 April, the park is due to host an Easter trail themed around birds and eggs, alongside an Easter bonnet parade and craft activities at the visitors' centre. There are also indoor options for children who enjoy making and creating. Easter craft mornings are planned at Grantham Guildhall Arts Centre on Tuesday 14 April and at Stamford Arts Centre on Thursday 16 April. Organisers say activities are set to include making butterflies, garlands and other Easter decorations, as well as puppet shows. Elsewhere, Alford is due to host a four-day craft market in the town's newly refurbished Corn Exchange, where local makers are expected to sell handmade items. Food and drink are also expected to be available in the café, offering another possible stop for families exploring the area over the break. In Gainsborough, the town's shopping centre is also preparing for a day of Easter activities on Saturday 4 April, adding to the list of free events taking place across the county. Taken together, the planned events offer families across Lincolnshire a broad choice of free days out, whether they are looking for crafts, outdoor fun, shopping or simply something different to do during the holidays. Event details, timings and activities are based on information published by organisers and may be subject to change.
